Effect of waiqi (emitted qi) on singe sodium channel of cultured rate neurons

The effects of qigong waiqi on the single sodium channel of cultured neurons were tested by using patch clamp technique.

1. The single sodium channel of cultured neuron has a conductance of 8.6pS. in physiology saline. The open-time constancy is 3.2+-0.01 ms.

2. After qigong was applied with left hand at distance 1.2m for 10 min, the conductance of sodium channel is 16.5 pS. The open-time constancy is 8.1+-0.02ms.

It was suggested that qigong waiqi could activate the sodium channel and have excitatory effect on the neurons.
