Effect of waiqi (emitted qi) on singe sodium channel of cultured rate neurons Author: Liu Anxi//Zhao Jing//Wang Xishang//Zhang Jun Affiliation: Dept Biology, Nankai University, China [1] Conference/Journal: 3rd Nat Acad Conf on Qigong Science Date published: 1990 Other: Pages: 42 , Word Count: 84 The effects of qigong waiqi on the single sodium channel of cultured neurons were tested by using patch clamp technique. 1. The single sodium channel of cultured neuron has a conductance of 8.6pS. in physiology saline. The open-time constancy is 3.2+-0.01 ms. 2. After qigong was applied with left hand at distance 1.2m for 10 min, the conductance of sodium channel is 16.5 pS. The open-time constancy is 8.1+-0.02ms. It was suggested that qigong waiqi could activate the sodium channel and have excitatory effect on the neurons.
