The Healer Within Foundation, a California 501(c)(3) non-profit, advances community-based Qigong/Tai Chi and other self-healing, body-mind-spirit practices through collaborations with individuals and organizations, to sponsor trainings, community practice groups and research.
Over seven years as president of the nonprofit Healer Within Foundation, Josie’s leadership skills helped grow the organization, including increasing the number of trainers, practice leaders, dedicated volunteers and staff who are active today. Her research interests in meditative movement, pain physiology, interoception, and self- and co-regulation have led Josie to concentrate on sharing meditative movement with clients and audiences that experience chronic pain. The depth of healing and awakened sense of freedom she has witnessed in people with chronic pain who practice meditative movement are a source of constant inspiration.
