METHODS: Obese adults practiced yoga for 5 hours per day and had a low fat, high fiber, vegetarian diet. RESULTS: Following the 6-day program, decreases were noted in body mass index waist and hip circumferences, fat-free mass, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, fasting serum leptin levels and increases were observed in postural stability and hand grip strength.
