Effect of qigong waiqi (emitted qi) on IL-2 activity and multiplication action of spleen cells in mice

In this study, the influences of qigong waiqi on the activity of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and the reaction of multiplication of spleen cells in mice were observed. It was shown that the waiqi could promote obviously the activity of IL-2 (the value of GI was 8.59+-4.37 in experiment group and 2.70+-0.09 in control group, (P<0.01) and also promote the reaction of multiplication of spleen cells in mice excited by ConA. It was suggested that the waiqi can promote not only the quantity of immune cell, but also the function of immune competent cells. The waiqi may influence the immuno-regulation and immuno-response by means of changing the level of IL-2. It is revealed that qigong waiqi may be a safe and effective method of rehabilitation.
