The Eight Diagrams Qigong Field is a kind of particular surroundings created to treat patients suffering from neurotic disorders. It combines the celestial diagram, Eight Diagrams Directions, qigong field, qigong message, music and fragrant herbal medicine into a whole. The firmament-like scenes produce favorable effects upon the patient's mind, which helps them get rid of mental stress and depression, gives them relaxation and pleasure, and brings their physiological and biochemical processes to the optimistic state. The direction of the Eight Diagrams and the postures of the patients during the treatment coincide with the unity of the human electromagnetic field and the natural one. The qigong message and sound effect are meant for the concentration of the patients minds by resonant effect of the inside qi and the outside qi. The application of herbal medicinal fragrance can dispel the foul qi, regulate qi and mind. The soft and slow music leads the internal qi of the patients to travel along meridians and combines with the qi in the space and earth so as to achieve perfect unity of mind, qi and vitality. The action of the comprehensive treatment of the qigong field not only yields the result of treating different diseases simultaneously and treating the same diseases with different methods, but also produces obvious curative effect because the qigong master and the patients act in the same ways and steps, the combination of internal and external qi in the qigong field results in resonance.

After being treated in this way, the patients' symptoms basically disappeared and they felt energetic and resumed their normal life and work. Of all 88 patients who have received this therapy, 56 have been cured, accounting for 63.6% of the total. The rest have showed improvement to various degrees (P<0.05).
