Objective:
To investigate the effect on the neurasthenia treated by six-character breathing methods Qigong assisted by body building hammer therapy.
Methods:
The 120 subject included 45 males and 75 females, who were outpatients from February to November. Their ages ranged between 30 and 65 years old, with a mean of 42. The course of the disease lasted from 105 days to 11 years, with an average of 1.5 years.
All subjects were asked to practice six-character breathing methods Qigong and walking exercises. Subjects should practice six-character breathing methods Qigong no less than 4 times, and practice the walking exercise no less than 3 times a day. They were also asked to tap certain meridians and acupoints with the hammer no less than 2 times a day. Every 20 days was considered one treatment course.
Results:
98 cases (82%) were cured (deep sleep for more than 6 hours a night, no symptoms, full of energy); 16 cases showed obvious effect (sleep for more than 6 hours a night, almost no symptoms, without tiredness); 6 cases showed some effect (sleep for more than 5 hours, symptoms amelioration, with slight tiredness); no cases showed no effect (just the same as before).
Conclusions:
It is a good method for the neurasthenia practicing six-character breathing methods Qigong assisted by body building hammer therapy.
