In this study, we found that when walking a person generated a quasi-electrostatic field with change of electrification and capacitance and furthermore the field could be measured by remote sensing. We developed a method to measure the electric field for each leg separately in order to eliminate fluctuation due to movement of each leg1). Results obtained by the method showed that the quasi-electrostatic field generated from the human body during walking reflected the individual characteristics of the walking pattern. These individual characteristics could be clearly distinguished even using a quasi-electrostatic field including right and left legs.
