Even though we live in a highly materialized civilization, our interest is drawn to oriental practices such an qigong, yoga, meditation and zen. These practices have been handed down from generation by practitioners, but scientific explications based on modern methods are not complete. In order to explicate the effects of oriental practices, we believe it is necessary to make contribution through our research, which is a result of merging the knowledge of oriental civilization we inherited with information of western civilization which were absorbed through academic studies. First, I would like to introduce the medical and scientific methods we used and other related information, and then discuss future views.
