Our goal was to investigate the mechanism of qigong. This paper describes the basic three regulations, i.e., posture, breathing, and physiological activity, in qigong. In order to show the effects of qigong exercises, we used physiological measurements, such as EEG5 ECGs Blood flow, PPG, SpO2, 02, and C02.

We first tested 'Strengthening Qigong' (Qiang Zhuang Gong) while seated or lying down, to measure the physiological effects of posture. Secondly, we tested the Six-Word Practice (Liu Zi Jue) to measure the mechanism of rhythmic breathing, e.g., controlled respiration. Thirdly, we also tested the physiological effects of the qigong master when he/she did healing using qigong therapy.

The results show (i) the blood pressure was ordered easy in the lying posture more than the seated position in 'Strengthening Qigong'. (ii) Blood pressure decreased when breathing out longer than breathing in and conversely blood pressure increased when inhaling longer than exhaling, and (iii) From the GSR signals of qigong master we can got the frequency same as breathing and when qigong master did his qigong therapy, the BPM on open his eyes was higher then close eyes.

This study shows that different ways of qigong exercises can have different results for different people and that when using an unsuitable way to exercise or receive therapy can have unfavorable results.
