The effects of remote healing, which is practiced as an extension of Qi gong or healing were investigated by scientific measurements. In this experiment, a Qi gong master in Tokyo sent Qi energy to two receives in Sendai, approximately 300 km away. The biophysical change of the receivers in remote healing were measured using a single square voltage pulse method, which indicates change of blood flow and functions of the autonomic nervous system, and near infrared photometry which monitors oxygen consumption in the brain. The receivers exhibited body actions
where they habitually had trouble, depression in the abdomen and visions of light images when they experienced remote Qi gong healing. They also reported that they found themselves fulfilled or satisfied mentally and physically after receiving Qi energy. Biophysical changes, which occurred in remote healing were observed simultaneously.
