This paper holds that force of Qigong is a kind of congenital formless substance within the human body. It not only exists in the human systems of yin and yang, zang and fu, but also in the systems of meridians. When the inner Qi goes out of the body, it is called the external force of Qi, and it is not a secret that the external force may be used to cure various diseases. This paper argues that when the external force is used to cure diseases, the Qigong master should base his treatment on the signs and symptoms following the four diagnostic methods of inspection, auscultation and olfaction, interrogation, pulse feeling and palpation so as to supplement the deficiency and dispel the excess. Besides, the Qigong master should also take into account the 'patient' diet, rest, passion and feeling, as well as the local climatic changes to desire satisfactory curative effects.
