Modern medical research indicates that aging is caused by:

the decline of the metabolic function
the decline of the endocrine system

The purpose of medicine is to help improve the condition of the
endocrine system and maintain its normal functioning. It has been
demonstrated that traditional Chinese medicine is effective health
regimens.

Through the clinical findings of modern medicine, practicing Qigong has
made a major breakthrough to the pituitary gland. Scientists believe that the major function of the pituitary is to control the development of the human body and the speed of its aging.

There is a Taoist legend that one would be immortal if he could get rid
of ìsan shiî. According to a very old Chinese concept, a human body was
divided into three burners; upper, middle and lower. Ancient people
imagined that inside the three burners were parasites, called 'san shi
wormsî.

In order to eliminate the ìwormsî ancient alchemists developed
some methods and helped to find the mechanism of the human body, which has been proved by clinical research. I believe Qigong can be used to
stimulate the location of the pituitary and get the same result. I consider the location to be the pineal gland located at the base of the corpus callosum. The pineal gland's function is a kind of endocrine, an
equilibratory hormone (somatopropin). Therefore, the way to maintain good health is to revive the function of the pineal gland, which helps
attain the goal of health and longevity.

Longevity is still the goal for human beings to pursue. Taking medicine
is another way to attain the same goal. Obviously medicine can exert
great effects and help improve the bodies' metabolism and excretion. If
there should be another breakthrough, life expectancy may increase
dramatically but we are still a long way from immortality. Practicing
Qigong should be a promising way to stay youthful. Should the location of the pituitary or the pineal gland be the core of human life, it would be possible to stop the inhibitor hormone. In a nutshell, human beings have been dreaming of improving their health to increase life expectancy.
