Qigong is playing an essential role in holistic approaches to career treatment that Obitsu-Sankei Hospital has been taking for sixteen years. We would like to report how we are applying Qigong to daily practice and to prospect the future of Qigong in medical science.
Nei-Qigong: About 10 kinds of Qigong classes, including Fangsonggong, Waidangong, Tai Chi and so forth, open for patients in the hall which was specially built for practice. The patients can freely choose these classes depending on their preference and physical strength.
Wai-Qigong: There is a person in charge, a graduate from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, who exercises Wai-Qigonq on demand of patients. In addition, a doctor who understands Qigong give is to each patient for a short time when he goes to round wards.
Zu-Chang-Dai-Gong: It is practiced inthe hall twice a week. Qigong works most effectively when these three are harmoniously mixed together. Life inherently holding the complex system should be dealt with by medical science based on the complex system. Medical science founded on the complex system consists of immunology, psychology and Eastern traditional medicine. We believe that the importance of Qigong in medical science would increasingly expand in future.
