147 cases of hemiplegia due to cerebrovascular accident treated by qigong

Recently 147 cases of hemiplegia due to cerebrovascular accident were admitted to our hospital and treated by Qigong with good result.

Clinical Data for 143 Cases of Hemiplegia:

a. 86 were male and 61 female
b. ages ranged between 36-71 years old

Method:

Air Bath - Patients were asked to take the sitting or lying position, relax and regulate their breathing.

Massage - Self-massage and passive-massage were conducted.

3. Qigong - Special forms developed by the master.

Sun Bath - In a room the skin was exposed to the sun light until redness presented.

Walking - Keeping on walking by oneself or help from the medical staff.

Slow Running - It was done usually at the third stage of treatment.4-8 steps ran in one breath. At first one ran 500 meters a day, and one week later 600 meters, and finally to 3000 meters.

7. Others - Other physical exercises were combined.

Results Showed An Effective Rate of 93%:

a. cured: 8 cases (5.44%)
b. marked effectiveness: 27 cases (18.37)
c. Improved: 31 cases (21.09%)
d. failed: 10 cases (6.80%)
