This report deals with the emitted qi's curative effect on the mice with H22 ascites liver cancer. The emitted qi's influence on tumor inhibiting rate, and the prolonged life span of mice with liver cancer and oxygen consumption of liver cells are to be observed.
The control group of healthy mice in advance receiving the emitted qi half an hour every day for 10 days, was given tumor strain, and at the same time the cancer group was also given tumor strain and the emitted qi for 7 or 10 days. The experimental findings show that the body weight, abdominal width, ascites volume and liver weight of the group treated by the emitted qi decreased by 43.54% (p<0.05), 15.75% (p<0.02), 38.35% (p<0.05) and 24.56% (p<0.01) respectively than those of the group with cancer. The death rate of ascites cancer cells of mice (with tumor) treated by the emitted qi for 7 days was 2. 47±0.56. The death rate of ascites cancer cells of mice with tumor not treated by the emitted qi was 1.85±0.74. The rate of tumor inhibition was 33.51%. The experimental results indicate that the emitted qi has the function of inhibiting the proliferation of ascites cancer cells of animals with liver cancer. Mice treated by the emitted qi lived 3.5 days longer than those with tumor. Endogenous and exogenous oxygen consumption in liver cells of mice with tumor treated by the emitted qi decreased by 30.89% (p<0.001) and 15.71% (p<0.2) respectively than that of the mice with tumor not treated by the emitted qi.
