Results. 1.Emitted qi's influence on the general condition and blood sugar change of rats with diabetes mellitus
Diabetes is marked by polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria, wasting away and lassitude. Symptoms were relieved after a period of treatment by emitted qi. Body weight put on after 2 weeks' treatment, but the condition of the model control group remained the same as before.
A blood sugar determinator was employed to measure the change of blood sugar of rats in the incidence and treating course. The result was shown in Fig. 1. It shows the emitted qi may accelerate the positive change of blood sugar in diabetes and improve the general condition.
2.Emitted qi's influence on the change of urinoglucose of rats with diabetes
The result is shown in Fig. 2.

After a treatment for 4 weeks, urinoglucose decreased from the peak to almost normal, by 35mg/dl. In comparison with the model control group ( p <0.01),there was significant difference.
3.Change of blood insulin content of rats with diabetes after emitted qi's treatment
After statistic management, there is marked difference. It shows the emitted qi can increase the content of blood insulin to decline blood sugar.
1. Under general condition, there was no measurable sugar in rat's urine. Only 1 week after drug injection, the content of urinoglucose elevated and 2 weeks later, it reached the peak. Urinoglucose of the model control group decreased to some extent 3 weeks later,but it was not satisfactory. It indicates that damage of the kidney due to diabetes appears later than sharp increase of blood sugar. The kidney function cannot recover only depending on self compensation without external impetus. As to the qigong group,1 week after the drug injection, urinoglucose increased similarily to the model control group, but in the 2nd week, urinoglucose was controlled to some extent and in the 3rd week, it decreased greatly. In the 5th week, it returned to normal. It indicates emitted qi is quite effective.
2. The experiment determined the content of blood insulin with the micromethod, which allowed us to observe directly the influence of emitted qi on diabetes.
