In this report, the randomized control test has been done on patients with senile chronic diseases who are taught to practise qigong according to differentiation of syndromes (differentiation) or not (non-differentiation), to observe the therapeutic effect and the changes of plasma testosterone and estradiol with radioimmunological assay. The result showed that the therapeutic effect in the former group was better than that in the latter (P<0.05) and that the level of testosterone was much higher after qigong practice than before (P<0.05). It was also found that there was a close relationship between the level of testosterone and the improvement of syndromes (P<0.05).
