For study of the curative effect of waiqi of qigong on the tumor 54 of the emperiment tumor animals were used in three batches. The Intra-abdominal tumors and subcutaneous tumors were formed by transplantation of MO mouse fibrosarcoma cells into abdominal cavity of subcutaneous tissue of right armpit, respectively in the inbred strain C3H/He a mice. These mice with MO cells were divided randomly into the treatment groups and the control groups and all mice of the two groups were fed with same standard pellet diet and tap water. From the second day or seventh day after the transplantation of MO cells the mice of the treatment group were treated for 30 minutes with waiqi of qigong given out by the hands of qigong doctor, Hongxun Shen, every day. The distance between the mice and the hands of qigong doctor was 15 to 20 cm. The mice of the control group were not given any treatment. Shen these mice died their survival times after transplantation of MO cells were calculated and all dead mice were autopsied and all the tumor volumes were measured individually.
It was found in 34 mice of intra-abdominally transplantation the average volume (1191.7143+-767.475 mm and 1084.28+-563.989 mm) of intra-abdominal tumor of intra-abdominal tumor of the experimental groups was obviously smaller than the average volume (355.84+-2387.847 and 3143.5429+-1215.877 mm) of the control group (P<0.05 and P<0.001, respectively). The survival time did not have statistical difference between the treatment groups and the control groups (P>0.3). In the 20 mice of subcutaneously transplantation, the average survival time (35.4+-2.5 days) of the treatment group (10 mice) after transplantation of MO cells was significant longer than that of the control group (30.4+-3.4 days, P<0.002) and the average volume (259.29+-90.54 mm) of the subcutaneous tumor per day in treatment group was much smaller than that (396.42+-127.39 mm, N=10) of the control group.
These results indicate that waiqi of qigong can prolong the survival time and reduce the tumor volume of the mice with MO tumor. This experiment suggests that waiqi of qigong has really curative effects on the mice with MO tumor.
