This study was designed to look at the long-term clinical effectiveness of biofeedback compared with medical therapy alone for fecal incontinence with sphincter deficit. At 30 months the incontinence score was lower for the biofeedback group and unchanged in the medical therapy group. The biofeedback was more effective at 6 months than at 30 months, suggesting the possible benefit of additional biofeedback sessions in some patients after 6 months.
