AST Chiro Qigong (AST Qigong) has been reported about the effects on several diseases including cancer, hitherto. Authors tried to investigate the effects of AST Qigong on the induction of apoptosis in gastrointestinal cancers. There were three types of Qigong effects; the first was induction of apoptosis mainly, the second was induction of both the apoptosis and inhibition of cell cycle,
and the third was inhibition of cell cycle mainly. Although further study is indispensable for critical role of this mechanism, this observation suggested that the induction of the apoptosis was one of the therapeutic mechanisms of AST Qigong against cancer.
