Excitatory actions of qigong on nerve-muscle synapsis transmission in rat and insect

The nerve-muscle postsynaptic response was studied from the muscle diaphragms of rat and ventral longitudinal muscle of Drosophila with the glass microelectrode of electrophysiology by outward-air of qigong.

1. The excitatory postsynaptic potential (EPSP) was raised by outward-air at distance 1.2 m. The exciting action of outward-air appeared in the increase of the intensity of threshold stimulation applied on the presynaptic nerve.

2. It was seen that outward-air frequently induced the bursts of the spontaneous EPSPs. The amplitude and frequency of the discharges gradually increased to from spikes at 2-4 min. and finally the discharges were restored.
