Our greatest barrier to the sweet flow of the chi in our society-body is our prison system. Here we corral the men whose lives and crimes exemplify stagnant, constricted chi. We isolate and abandon them to fight amongst each other. We severely restrict any inflow of healthy chi (education, beauty, therapy, training, healthy food). We pit other men against them, to restrain and rule over them. Inside Folsom Prison there is a small group of prisoners whose background and crimes are as ugly and restricted as they come. Yet their lives are being transformed by discovering, releasing and flowing with the chi. As they yield, they overcome and find a freedom inside the bars. Inside each of the men who practice, the healing is spreading not only within the cells of their own bodies, but the cell blocks of the whole prison. The twice weekly practice group embraces men from all races, religious groups and gangs. They have tapped into the Bubbling Spring. Their intent, like each of us who practice, is to heal themselves.
