This study includes many clinical cases over ten years. The attempt was to differentiate mind body techniques in different diseases, and also to measure physiological responses. In an acute condition of Chronic Heart Disease, the methods used were: for fluid in the lung, X-Rays; for ankle swelling, pedal palpation; for diuretics intake, blood pressure; for panting and insomnia, the number of breaths per minute; and for anxiety and fear, a form of meditation (differentiated). A Time Line of all variables was developed. In another three-year study for nausea (in old age) due to medication, self help breathing cycles were developed. Development of the techniques of meditation, breath control, and Qigong resulted from over thirty years of practice and study and fifteen years of clinical practice. The results show a need to further develop clearer global physiological characteristics across diseases associated with mind body techniques. It can be seen from very detailed casework how modern medication requires special understanding during acute symptoms. It is like fighting fires when the ice is coming. Over the course of the disease one sees mind body techniques helpful in preventing over reactions of the organs or anxiety, and, physiological reactions due to medications or over reaction to cold or hot. The conclusion of this study up to this point leads to a need for larger measurements in brain activity, heart, and hot and cold distribution in the body. These then can be linked with the clinical understanding of episodes in certain diseases and mind body techniques in further study.
