Zhonghua Yizhi Gong can benefit the body and mind and prolong life. Its mechanism is discussed as follows:
Regulating the Nervous System:
In the standing stance it requires relaxation, imagining feet going deeply into the earth, and, integration of the heaven, earth and man. Listen distantly, look horizontally and vaguely. The cortex would be in a state of inner inhibition, which means rest of the brain. Functional disturbance due to over-excitation is moved.
Accelerating Blood Circulation:
When one is doing the exercise, his limbs are in a required position for a long time. The skeletal muscles are in a state of constant contractor, and about 200-300 capillaries are open. The
heart pumps increased volume of blood and the blood circulation is
accelerated. Cholesterol in blood is decreased. It can prevent arteriosclerosis, hypertension, coronary heart disease.
Benefiting the Respiratory System:
Paradoxical respiration enables the movement of diaphragm in a space of 4-5 cm. The chest circumference becomes larger, and the lung vital capacity increases. More oxygen is inhaled and blood volume increases, which may prevent degeneration of the lung tissues, bronchitis and lung emphysema.
Improving the Digestive System:
During exercises, secretion of saliva increases, which helps digestion and treats diseases.
Regulating Internal Organs:
The deep breathing can regulate the sympathetic nerves and
parasympathetic nerves, and the internal organs controlled by them marked by decreased heart beat.
Strengthening the Muscles of the Lower Limbs:
Long practice enables the thickness of the muscles of the lower limbs and muscular fibers.
