One factor contributing to the suffering of angiocardiopathy is hypertension. Previous researches indicate that Qigong promises effectiveness in lowering and stabilizing pressure. 120 cases are clinically observed in order to do further research on the preventive and curative effects of China Informative Qigong in its treatment of hypertension complicated by coronary heart disease.
Comparative clinical effects between two groups included 120 cases of primary hypertension complicated by coronary heart disease were randomly divided into Qigong group (Qigong and small dosage of hypotensor n=60) and control group (small dosage of hypotensor n=60 only). All data such as age, sex, blood pressure, stage of illness, hypotensor, etc. were the same except that one group practiced China Informative Qigong.
After one year treatment, the Qigong Group's Effective Rate:
a. pressure Lowering at 88.0%
b. relieving of Symptoms at 63.5%
c. improvement of Electrocardiogram Data at 57.0%
In Contrast to the Control Group:
a. pressure Lowering at 65.2%
b. relieving of Symptoms at 29.2%
c. improvement of Electrocardiogram Data at 22.2%
Striking differences was present between the two groups, which verifies the effectiveness of Qigong in the treatment of hypertension in complication of coronary heart disease.
Comparative tests of blood dynamics before and after treatment demonstrated a functional decline of left ventricle as well as abnormal blood dynamics were often found in patients having hypertension complicated by coronary heart disease. Before treated by Qigong, blood dynamics tests of 32 cases showed CI=2.3610 (liter/min,/m), TRR=2241.6321 (dyne.sec./m) while CI rose to 2.700 (P£º0.01) and TPR decreased to 1986. 1206(P£º0.05).
After one year practice of China Informative Qigong, heart rate slows, blood pressure lowers, which suggests that Qigong training plays an active role in promoting heart pumping function, reducing oxygen consumption of cardiac muscle and balancing blood dynamics.
The experimental results suggest that combined treatment of drug and Qigong is one of the effective measures to prevent hypertension complicated by coronary heart disease. It results in such benefits as improving the heart function and promoting recovery of cardiac impairment.
