The term. 'structure of water' has been very largely limited to the nature of the molecular species (whether monomers, dimers. trimers. etc. and various oligomeric polyhedra) present in the liquid. This paper presents a brief summary of the relevant rich data from materials researchers who use the term 'structure' differently: to describe the 3-D arrangement of molecules, ions, or atoms in space. Data are presented especially from similar covalently bonded liquids. Combining the two perspectives yields a picture of the structure of water as a nano-heterogeneous assemblage of various size clusters, very easily changed by the usual intensive variables, P + T and including, also the weaker intensive variables including E and H. An array of data on changes of structure/properties measured by Raman and I-R spectroscopy. SEM. TEM. Etc. will be presented.
