This paper shows 32 cases of frozen shoulder and tennis elbow treated by Qigong. Among them, 8 were male and 24 were female, age was from 27 to 76. Histories were from 1 week to 2 years.

Treatment:
A. External Qi treatment: The author emitted 'Qi' to the patient's shoulder/elbow area through index and middle fingers or palm without touching the patient. The session lasted 5 to 10 minutes.
B. Acupressure and massage: Following the external Qi treatment, the author selected several acupressure points to press with Qi according to the case. Shaking and vibrating elbow, arm and the other massage techniques were applied for approximately 10 to 30 minutes to complete the entire treatment. Patients received treatment 2 to 3 times a week.

Result:
Most patients who had such symptoms as insomnia caused by pain, difficulty in holding objects or moving shoulder/arm, felt relief. Six patients received complete relief from the first visit (18.8%). Seven patients felt most symptoms disappeared after 2 to 5 treatments (21.9%). Thirteen patients had noticeably effective or improved conditions through 6 to 15 treatments (40.6%). Four patients interrupted treatment after 2 to 4 treatments (12.5%). Two cases failed (6.3%). The total effective rate was 81.2%.

Discussion:
Frozen shoulder and tennis elbow are common diseases that are not effectively treated using standard medical practices. Qigong treatment has the characteristics of simplicity and convenience, safety , and absence of side-effect.
