Effect of emitted qi on prevention and treatment of tumors in mice Author: Feng Lida//Peng Liaomin Affiliation: Chinese Immunology Research Center, Beijing, China [1] Conference/Journal: 2nd World Conf Acad Exch Med Qigong Date published: 1993 Other: Pages: 106 , Word Count: 158 Through random division, we had 30 mice divided into three groups: the tumor control group (I), qigong protective group(II), and qigong protective and treating group(III) to look into the use of the emitted qi in tumor prevention and treatment. Before transferring tumor, the emitted qi had been used for two weeks to protect tumor from growth in the second and third groups. After transferring tumor, the emitted qi was given for another two weeks to the third group to treat tumor. Mice of the three groups were killed at the same time. The change of the body weight, spleen, thymus, and tumor net weight were measured. The result showed the emitted qi decreased the incidence of tumor. Even though the tumor has developed, persistent emitted qi could inhibit tumor growth. Short duration of emitted qi treatment had little effect on body weight, spleen and thymus, etc. It indicates that the emitted qi can inhibit tumor growth directly.
