Effect of emitted qi on peripheral blood lymphocytes and subgroups in ICR mice Author: Lu Huahao//Wang Lianfang//Zhen Jeiping//Xie Chunlin//Chang Jiaoying//Luo Jifeng//Lin Xiaoshang Affiliation: 157 Central Hospital of PLA, Guangzhou, China [1] Conference/Journal: 3rd Nat Acad Conf on Qigong Science Date published: 1990 Other: Pages: 70 , Word Count: 308 This article mainly reports that on third day, sixth day and thirteenth day after mice (weight 31+-2g, 8-10 weeks, male), away from the speaker about 23 meters, was got qi-emitting of qigong about 3 hours from the qigong field induced by speaker Heming Pang who gave a lecture on wise and intelligent the qigong, the change of peripheral blood lymphocytes (%), acid-a-naphtholum-acetate-enzyme (ANAE+) staining and its granular type and divers type in ICR mice were observed and analyzed. It was found that lymphocytes (%) and ANAE+ in ICR mice increased steadily and continually. The 3rd day, 6th day, 13th day after being given qi-emitting were significantly greater than that of itself before being gotten qi-emitting (148.8+-1.5 versus 43.6+-5.4%, 49.7+-2.9 versus 43.6+-5.4%, 49.2+-3.3 versus 43.6+-5.4%, 49.7+-2.9 versus 43.6+-5.4%, 49.2+-3.3 versus 43.6+-5.4% respectively; mean+-SD, P < 0.05. So was the later (45.8+-3.47 versus 44.2+-3.29% respectively; P<0.05); buy subgroups changed differently. Granular types of ICR mice increased slightly and soon decreased to normal (3rd day 24.41+-2.39 versus 21.46+-2.38%, P<0.05; 13th day 25.83+-2.39 versus 21.46+-2.38, P>0.05). Divers types of it first decreased and then went back to the normal (21.39+-2.28 versus 22.74+-2.88%, P<0.05; 22.51+-1.34 versus 21.39+-2.28, P>0.05; 22.97+-1.93 versus 21.39+-2.28, P>0.05; respectively). The ratio of granular type to divers-type increased from 0.958+-0.175 before qigong to 1.15+-0.164 (3rd day), 1.114+-0.144 (6th day), 1.137+-0.202 (13th day), respectively (P<0.05). ANAE+ cells present T-cell, gramiclar-type cells belongs to T-helper cell (Th) and divers-type cells to T-suppressor cells (Ts). So we conclude that the qigong enhances lymphocytes function and regulates the proportion of T cell subgroups to sustain the balance of function. What is more, the effect of the qigong on enhancement of the whole function of T cell is larger than that of the regulating function of it and ANAE+ staining, handy cheep with a good repetition can identify T cell subgroups.
