Effect of emitted qi on molecular conformation of cellulase Author: Wu Zudao 1//Yang Guisheng 2 Affiliation: Dept Microbiology, Shandong University, China [1] //Qigong Science Research Society, Shandong, China [2] Conference/Journal: 3rd Nat Acad Conf on Qigong Science Date published: 1990 Other: Pages: 68 , Word Count: 234 The absorption spectrum change of 280 nm of cellulase solution under the existence of emitted qi was measured. The change was obvious, when emitted qi acted about 4.5 min. It reached maximum value, 1.5 mm more than control. This demonstrated that the conformation of cellulase had been changed by emitted qi. The tyrosine and tryptophan, which originally exist inside the molecule, were fully exposed on the surface of molecule. So the OD value rose. With continued existence of emitted qi, the conformation of cellulase went on changing. The tyrosine and tryptophan, which had first exposed outside, began to go back into inside again, at the same time, the OD value decreased. It reduced 0.5 mm when the time amounted to 13.5 min. While tyrosine and tryptophan were transferred into inside of molecule even more deeply. Tracking scan observation on conducted cellulase solution by emitted qi was performed. The result shows that the OD value of 280 nm reduced gradually and it had reduced about 15 min. on the tenth day after emitted qi acted about 13.5 min. moreover, the OD value of 225 nm began to decrease on the sixth day, and even more on the tenth day. The 225 nm absorption is the characteristic absorption of peptide bond of protein. Its reduction indicates the denaturation of eymoprotein and loose structure, but the conformation of cellulase couldn't return to its initial state. In summary, it is found that the emitted qi exists an after-effect.
