A Pilot Study on Social Problems of Psychotic Disorders Resulted from Qigong

    Objective: To analyze the social reasons why Qigong can produce physical illness, especially with psychotic disorders, and to help more people recognize and use Qigong correctly. 
Methods: The study was carried out in sixteen subjects. 12 subjects had received high school education, and 4 subjects had received college education. The general situation and symptoms of psychotic disorders of the subjects were recorded 
Results: 13 subjects said that they saw the image of ghosts and gods and heard voices. 4 cases felt being clinging to ghosts. 3 cases felt they were being controlled by ghosts and gods. 4 cases could be controlled by Qigong master. 11 cases are natured by diffidence, cowardice, poor communication, and lack of their own judgments. The majority of the subjects have obtained secondary education, of which 12 subjects graduated from high school, 4 subjects graduated from college whose curative effects were better than those of 12 subjects.
Conclusion: A scientific propaganda of Qigong does not spread widely. People are mistakenly guided by Qigong master. Psychotic disorders caused by Qigong are partly related to psychological features and the degree of education
