Is the Cerebral Cortex in a Generalized Inhibitory State during Qigong Meditation? Based on these results and those of the authors' previous studies, it is suggested that qigong meditation may be associated with both inhibitory and facilitative effects on the cerebral cortex. But it is uncertain whether this is anomalous and specific for qigong meditation or merely an ordinary physiological phenomenon. Further study to clarify this point is necessary.
