[Article in English, Spanish] , Word Count: 119 OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy on the level of difficulty in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. METHODS: This study was a quasi-experiment with nonprobability sampling technique consisting of 60 participants, divided into intervention groups and control groups of 30 samples for each based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS: The three sessions of music therapy are significantly reducing the anxiety level of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy (p<0.001) in the intervention group. Meanwhile, no significant reducing of anxiety among the control group (p=0.139). CONCLUSION: Music therapy is effective in reducing anxiety levels of cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy.
